Announcement:
After nearly 8 years at Kidlington Parish Council, the Parish Clerk, Rachel Faulkner is stepping down to pursue new challenges. Rachel started at Exeter Hall in May 2017 and served as the Proper Officer to three different councils.
During her time at KPC, she has overseen the refurbishment of four of the council’s play areas, Exeter Close, Ron Groves, Briar Close and Evans Lane and has put plans in place to develop Park Hill later this year. Having researched the history of the village, it was Rachel’s idea to commission the sculpture of Rosie the Elephant to create an interesting and relevant talking point at the entrance to the village. Rachel was at the helm during the Covid 19 pandemic and she encouraged the council’s support of the work of the local voluntary organisations to try to help residents during that difficult time. Of her time with the council, Rachel said:
“I am very proud of the amazing team of officers that I have worked with at Kidlington Parish Council. They are passionate about the village and the people who live here, and they work hard to keep the village looking clean and green.
Our events, which include the Gala Day, Fireworks, Remembrance Parade, and Christmas Lights Switch are popular and well attended by residents, and our facilities are well maintained and well used by the community, which is a real pleasure to see.
Kidlington is a wonderful, friendly place to live and work and it has been a privilege to work here".
