A Parish Poll, called by a group of residents, was held on 10 May on the question Should Kidlington Parish Council support the building of a stadium for Oxford United Football Club in Kidlington?

Out of a total 10,022 Kidlington electors, 928 voted YES and 2073 voted NO. The turnout was 29.99%. Although it did not support the poll, the Parish Council views the results as significant, and thanks residents who turned out to vote. The status of the poll is advisory.

The Council has decided for the time being to maintain its position of neutrality on the issue, until detailed plans are available. A further consultation will then be carried out by the Country Council, who will take the final decision whether the stadium proposal goes forward. Read more information here

The County Council's new 20 mph and 30 mph speed restrictions are operative in Kidlington from 22 May.
