Restart A Heart
Published: 04 October 2023
Restart A Heart is held every October, where thousands of people across the UK, and many more worldwide, come together to increase public awareness of cardiac arrests and increase the number of people trained in life saving CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and defibrillator use.
This year is the tenth year that the campaign has run and we want to invite as many people as possible to learn CPR; as such on Saturday 14th October we are running FREE sessions throughout the day at our training centre in Kidlington
CPR is a simple skill that everyone can learn and is so important so more lives can be saved
• Each year, roughly 80,000 people suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest – that’s around 200 people every day.
• 80% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen at home. Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces the chance of survival by 10%.
• 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
On the 14th we will be running 1 hour (approx) sessions that will include training and hands on practice – these will give you the confidence to save a life and they are completely free…. What have you got to lose?
If you or anyone you know would like a place, please email steven.surman@sja.org.uk stating if you would prefer a am or pm session and we will do our best to get you on a session that suits.
