Kidlington Parish Council is seeking to recruit an
Administrative Assistant

to join our small, friendly team based at Exeter Hall in Kidlington.
Hours of work: 25-30 hours per week. We have some flexibility regarding hours but would expect our new team member to be in the office between 9am and 2pm Monday to Friday. We would also need you to attend the monthly planning meetings that are held on the second Thursday of the month usually at 6.30pm and lasting an hour.
Salary and benefits: SCP 18 – 23 (£25,419 – £28,226 pro rata for part-time hours) plus entry into the local government pension scheme and generous holiday allowance.
Main duties:
Website and Social Media – the Council is keen to engage more effectively with our residents and you will be responsible for keeping our website up to date, recommending improvements and ensuring compliance.
Administration of burials – the Council manages two cemeteries in the village and the post holder will liaise with funeral directors and families regarding the allocation of plots and the proper administration of burials. Full training will be given so no previous experience is required but discretion, sensitivity and attention to detail are essential.
Planning Officer – our new team member will provide administrative support to the Planning Committee ensuring that agendas are produced and decisions recorded.
This is a public facing role and we are looking for someone who is friendly and a good communicator. You should have excellent IT skills and be willing to get involved in other aspects of the Council’s work such as organizing events, environmental initiatives and general administration.
