Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme

Published: 12 April 2022

We have submitted our planning application for the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme. You can read the planning application on Oxfordshire County Council’s online planning portal (Reference number MW.0027/22). Planning Register | Oxfordshire County Council

Oxfordshire County Council will be holding an online consultation on the planning application from 7 April to 9 May.

We would really appreciate it if you would share this news via your communication channels. The Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme will reduce flood risk to all properties currently at risk of flooding from the River Thames, reduce the impact of flooding on transport links, and enhance the local environment for generations to come.

We have produced an introductory video about the scheme outlining why it is needed in the context of historical floods and climate change. The link to the video is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd-tHCniXvU .

We have a dedicated website with videos, maps and information about the scheme. Visit the page here.

If you have a suggestion for how we can increase awareness of the scheme e.g. a social media platform/enewsletter or a community location, please let us know.

If you would like some additional information about the scheme, please don’t hesitate to contact me - OxfordScheme@environment-agency.gov.uk

Best wishes
