This Saturday FTL Futbol Hellenic Premier Division Sides Kidlington and Abingdon Town meet in the extra preliminary round of the F.A. Cup at Yarnton Road, K.O. 3-00 pm.
After a 1 - 1 draw mid-week against Carterton in their first league match Kidlington will be looking to record a win to progress in the country's most prestigious cup competition against their local rivals.
Kidlington's new Manager Gordon Geary and his team were pleased with their sides performance against Carterton and were generally happy enough with a point on the night, after Jimmy Deabill had given them the lead in the 55th minute. However after seeing the woodwork struck twice and home keeper James Domm pull off a string of fine saves they really could have taken all 3 points back home with them.
The match with Abingdon pitches together two managers new in their jobs, who I'm sure will be eager to attain a place for their respective clubs in the hat for the next round. Abingdon boss Mark O'Hara is an ex-Kidlington player and with ex-Abingdon Town boys Geary, Paul Harwood and Keith Appleton now on Kiddy's ground staff it should provide a edge to the match.
Geary reported that "he has a full squad to pick from", so he has plenty of options if needed.
KFC Squad - TOM McNAMARA, ROB HAMLING, JERRY KAPRAL, DANNY LEGGETT, CHRIS WEEDON, JAMES PHILPOTT, BRAD CHALMERS, NATHAN GEARY, TOM CASTLE, JACK QUAINTON, TOM HAYDAY, JACK JOHNSON, JAMIE DEBANKS, LEWIS COYLE, DARREN McNAMARA, KEIRAN SANDERS, ADAM LOVEGROVE, MARK BAKER, JIMMY DEABILL, ROB JOHNSON.
