A revamped Kidlington and Gosford Leisure Centre will re-open this weekend with plenty on offer for visitors.
There will be a host of free taster sessions available including dance workshops, circuit training, a spinning class and swimming.
Council Chairman, Cllr Mrs Diana Edwards, will welcome along wheelchair basketball star Ade Adeption MBE to do the ribbon cutting honours.
Ade was part of the British Basketball sqaud which brought home bronze from the Athens Paralympics in 2004 but is also well remebered for his part in a former BBC1 segue.
The opening comes just a week after that of modernised facilities at Bicester Leisure
Centre, including a new bowling alley.
A total of £3.6 million has been invested in new and updated facilities at Kidlington and Gosford. These include a new sports hall, changing rooms, swimming pool roof, reception, creche, cafe seating area and function room.
The plaque unveiling will take place on Saturday at 10.15am and Ade will cut the ribbon at 10.45am.
Cherwell District Council's portfolio holder for environment, recreation and health, Cllr George Reynolds, commented "After a hugely successful opening in Bicester last weekend, I have high hopes for this Saturday's event. There will be plenty going on for people to get involved in and best of all it will not cost them a penny".
